The Truth of Not Knowing

TRUTH is simple. Very simple-so simple that a child can understand it. In fact, so simple that only a child can understand it. Unless you become a child again you will not be able to understand it. It is an experience, not speculation. Osho

You now how sometimes you’re in a conversation and you lose track of  listening to the other person because you are already focused on how you are going to respond? What if you were slow on the draw, like a lethal gun slinger, deliberately interrupting your ready response with exquisite precision?

TRUTH happens in a state of not knowing, truth happens in innocence and curiosity. Truth happens when your thinking isn’t blanketed in what you know. What if truth were the clearing in a cloudy sky, peeking through as the clouds move by, the subtext of your experience waiting to be sighted?

Try this out as you go about your day today: When someone speaks, listen as if you were hearing them for the very first time. Drop down from your surface level of listening, as if you were descending on an elevator to the basement, and immerse yourself in the fullness of what is occurring.

Feel the depth in you, connecting to the depth in another. Honor the presence of the other and acknowledge the sacredness of the moment. Experience the intimacy of this union, of this deeper level of knowing. Allow what’s true to arise from this connection. You might be surprised at who shows up and who you become.
